The Pet Builder is a fun, multi-step process where you can create a digital cartoon version of your pet. With billions of options, you can truly customize all of your pets with ease. Once you’ve finished creating your pet, you can also add accessories, a background, or a fun holiday theme.
How do I find my pet’s breed in the cartoonizer?
If the category of pet you have chosen has multiple breed options, you can find them in two ways. Breeds are listed alphabetically for all categories. You can either scroll through the list until you find the right breed, or use the search function. There is both a search bar as well as clickable letter options right above where the breeds start to display.
Who draws the pets?
We have a small team of designers who create new breeds for us as well as our custom pet orders.
How accurate can you get my pet?
With billions of combinations, we are confident you will be able to get super close to your pets. If you are able to create your pet but it isn’t quite right, we do offer a custom pet creation process.
A custom drawing is when one of our artists takes provided images of your pet and uses them to ensure your cartoonized pet is as accurate as possible. This is a service that is sometimes needed to make sure that your pet is 100% accurate because the Pet Builder is missing an option, like a color or marking.
Each custom pet is $50. We will match your pet’s coloring and markings as well as simple structural changes such as a missing leg or eye. Anything beyond that, such as making a new breed, is not part of the service. To ensure this, you will need to tell us which current breed on our website matches your pet as we will use that as the base and make the appropriate adjustments of color and markings.

What if you don’t have my pet as a choice? Can I request a new species or breed?
We are always thinking about what to add next. Make sure to also follow us on social media and subscribe to our email list to be updated on what new breeds we add and when they go live.
How do I add accessories and backgrounds?
Once you’ve created and named your pet in the Pet Builder, you’ll see a Style My Pet button. If you click that button, you will see icons for themes, accessories and backgrounds to add some flair to your pet.
Can I use my pet as my avatar in my email signature?
Of course! The small 400x400 image is the perfect size for an avatar or email signature. Once you purchase the image you should be able to download it right away. You’ll be able to show off your pet online now too.

Can I use my pet on my website or blog?
Pets created in our Pet Builder are for non-commercial purposes only. You may use them in that manner as long as you give Cartoonize My Pet credit and/or a link.

Can I use my pet in a logo for my business?
At this time we are not allowing our images to be used for anything other than non-commercial purposes.
I’ve seen these pet designs being sold somewhere else, what should I do?!

Charities
Why are you asking me to pick a charity?
We love pets, both the digital and real versions, and we want to do our part in making sure that all animals have a chance to become a loved member of a family. We want you to pick a pet-related charity as a way to show our dedication and commitment to not only making a difference, but supporting the cause that you are passionate about. The charity you pick will be tied to your account. For every website or in-app purchase through our mobile game, Shelter Story, your chosen charity will receive 1% as a donation.
How do I pick a charity?
If you have already created an account, either via our website or our mobile game, Shelter Story, you will have already selected your charity. If you don’t have an account yet, one of the steps when you create an account is to pick your desired charity. You have many options to choose from. You can search for a charity by a variety of methods, such as name, breed or city. You can also choose our featured charity if you can’t find the one you are looking for or don’t see any that resonate with you.
If you would like to get your charity added to our list, send them to either our US Signup or International Signup link. The process is simple. We’ll collect the information about your charity and reach out to them to sign up to our organization network. We announce new charities through both email and social media.
My charity isn’t on your list. How do I get them added?

How do I get my charity featured?
If you want to see your charity featured we want to know all about it. Head over to our Contact Us page, and select the Charity Feature Request form. This will send the request to us for review.
How much of my purchase is donated to my charity?
For every purchase that you make, whether that is directly on our website or in our mobile game, Shelter Story, 1% of it will be donated to your chosen charity.
How often do you donate to my charity?
Charities in our network have a running balance. Each time a customer makes a purchase their donation amount is added. Each month we check their balance, and if they have reached our payment threshold we send them the full balance up until that point.
Can I see how much I’ve donated to my charity?
At this time, we are not able to show how much you've contributed to your charity. We hope to be able to show this to you in the future.
Can I see how much money my charity has received?
Unfortunately, right now this isn’t something that we can show, but don’t worry. Our team is working on creating some magic behind the scenes so you can see not only how much your charity has received, but the ranking of the top 5 charities.

How do I create an account?
You can create an account two ways:
If you have created a pet using our Pet Builder but don’t yet have an account, we will ask you to create an account in order to save your pet.
If you are visiting our site and have not visited the Pet Builder, you can click on the link to Log In/Sign Up and create an account there.
Where are my pets saved?
You can find your pets in your ‘My Pets’ section in your account. You can navigate to this page using the paw icon at the top of the page or going into your account and clicking on the button that says ‘Go to My Pets’.
How do I save my pet?
After you have finished creating your pet in the Pet Builder you will see text that says ‘Save My Pet’. If you click that, your pet will be automatically saved in your ‘My Pets’ section.
Products
Can I see my pet on products before I buy anything?
Of course! If you are logged into your account and you are in one of the product collection pages or on a specific product page, you will see your currently-selected pet on those products.
If you are not logged in you will not be able to see your pet on any products.
Do you offer gift cards?
We sure do! Gift cards make great gifts when you want to get someone something but you aren’t sure what they might like or you aren’t clear on exactly what their pet looks like. A gift card is not only a gift but an experience, giving them to chance to create their own custom pet and then pick out the product(s) they want their pet on.
We offer gift cards in various amounts. Click on the gift cards link at the top of the page or visit our Gift Cards page.
How do I make products of my saved pet?
You can create products with your pet on them in several places. If you are in the Pet Builder, there is a button that says Create Products. Clicking on that will take you to our products pages where you can see you pet on various products.
You can also visit the product pages directly where you will be able to see your pet on products, as long as you are logged in, and can place whatever products you wish into your cart.
What kinds of products do you sell?
Our products come in four (4) main categories: Clothing, Accessories, Home + Living, and Gift Cards. We offer a variety of products within each of these categories.
You can click on any of the links at the top of the page to be taken to the category pages.
How do the clothing products fit?
Our apparel comes from a variety of manufacturers. Please visit a specific product page for details about each product.
Can I have several pets on the same product?
Unfortunately, this is not something that we offer at this time. We hope to offer this in the future.
Shelter Story
What is Shelter Story?
Shelter Story is a mobile game created by the team at Cartoonize My Pet and Giant Fox Studios. Your player is one of your created dogs who runs a shelter, finds and treats dowgs in their community, and helps them find their forever home. Stay tuned for our global game launch in April 2023!
Where can I play Shelter Story?
Shelter Story can be played on both Android and iPhone. You can download it from Google Play or in the App Store.
Do I have to create a brand new pet to play Shelter Story?
Your account on the Cartoonize My Pet website links to the game. If you have already created a dog then it is possible to play using them. The standard character direction is when your pet is facing the right side of the screen. If you don’t have any dogs facing this direction we will offer to mirror them for you - there is no need to create a new dog unless you wish to do so.

Ordering & Returns
Do you ever run sales or specials on products?
We occasionally run different sales or promotions. These are announced in our monthly newsletter as well as on social media. Make sure you are subscribed and follow us to be kept updated on when they will happen.
What is your returns policy?
Due to the custom print-on-demand nature of our products, all products are unique and produced only once. That means that returns and exchanges are not possible if you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply decided that you no longer want the product.
For damaged products or manufacturing errors, we can offer a free replacement or a refund. The request must be submitted within 20 days of the product being delivered. Refunds can be processed back to your original payment method or store credit.

Refunds are not available for purchased digital pet images.
What is your shipping policy?
We offer standard, flat rate shipping options for all providers. Some products may allow for express shipping. If that is the case, you will see it as an option during checkout. Rates are based on the product, where it is manufactured and where the item will be delivered. The shipping rate will be calculated in your cart at the time of checkout. Express shipping for domestic orders is 2-3 business days. For international orders, express shipping is 3-5 business days.
Shipping is not offered to Gaudeloupe, North Korea, Russia, and Ukraine. Delivery to a particular country might be suspended or delayed if there are temporary shipping restrictions in place that affect the carries we use. While there are a few of our suppliers that can’t ship to military addresses, most of them do. All APO, FPO, or DPO packages will be shipped via USPS. Delivery for these orders may take up to 15-30 business days. Please keep in mind that tracking will stop showing updates once the order has reached the appropriate APO, FPO, or DPO hub. The order is still on the way for delivery.
While most of our suppliers offer tracking, there are a select few that do not. You will be able to see the shipping carrier, but are not able to follow the updated progress of your order. Orders that have been shipped, regardless of if tracking is available or not, will be marked as Shipped in the system.
We do not collect any customs fees at the time you place an order. While we have suppliers across the globe for our products, it is possible that an order you place may come from an area outside of your delivery location. In that case, it is possible that a customs fee is required during the shipping process. Should this happen, you as the customer is responsible for paying any fees to ensure your package is delivered to you.
Are there any discounts for buying in bulk?
If you are interested in purchasing more than 20 units of the same product, please visit our Contact Us page, and use the General form.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes we do! International shipping is offered except to Guadeloupe, North Korea, Russian, and Ukraine.
What are the shipping rates for products?
Shipping rates are based on where the product manufacturer is located as well as the country of delivery. Your shipping cost will be calculated in your cart before checkout.
How do I purchase an image?
Once you create a pet in our Pet Builder, you can add a digital image to your cart. Once the image is in your cart, you can follow the checkout instructions. Once your order is complete, your digital images will be downloadable in your account. We offer two image sizes:
- Standard 400x400 PNG - High Definition 4500x4500 PNG
Where is my order?
Our digital download orders are available for immediate download once payment has been processed. If your payment has cleared and you are not able to download your image please visit our Contact Us page, and use the Order Issue form.
For physical products, production time is between 2 and 4 days. Once your products are ready, they will be shipped out to you. Standard domestic shipping can take up to two weeks. Domestic orders where express shipping is chosen should arrive in 2-3 business days. Standard international shipping can take up to 30 business days. International orders where express shipping is chosen should arrive within 3-5 business days. Please allow for this time. Once your order has shipped, you will get an email with a tracking number if your carrier provides one. You can also find your tracking numbers in your account for your orders.
